Chocolate Academy™ Benelux Welcomes New Chocolate Ambassador

Chef Gill Walschap preps dessert for the Benelux Chocolate Ambassadors event

Chocolate Academy™ Benelux welcomed the newest Cacao Barry Ambassador, Chef GIll Walschap, to the Chocolate Ambassadors Club in late June.

Chef Gill began her pastry and chocolate journey in 2015 at Ter Groene Poorte Hotel School in Brugge, earning a baker-patissier-chocolatier diploma. With her credentials in hand, she began exploring the hospitality industry, working at Michelin-starred restaurants Zilte and Hert Gebaar, both in Antwerp and similarly-accoladed Nuance in Belgium.

During the health crisis in 2020, Chef Gill shifted her focus to a new business, Zoet by Gill, offering pastries to order, catering, and B2B consulting. She continued to work at Nuance while limiting Zoet to part-time. The business grew tremendously, and in 2021, she decided to devote her efforts entirely to the venture.

Chef Gill joins the Chocolate Ambassadors Club and will work closely with the Chefs at our Chocolate Academy™ Center in Belgium to explore new products and innovations and discover solutions to help her fellow chefs succeed in their careers and businesses.
